This month, we are going to listen to Jesus tell stories about tiny seeds, a lost coin, and hidden treasure to help our preschoolers learn that they can be part of Godʼs kingdom. No armor, swords, or battles required. All we have to do is listen to Jesus. His stories show us what Godʼs beautiful kingdom is like and how we can be part of it. We want every preschooler to know—and celebrate—this truth: I can be part of Godʼs kingdom. Letʼs pray for our preschoolers and their families. Pray that they come to know that God loves them deeply and that God wants them to be part of His kingdom.
The quest for Godʼs kingdom begins with knowing the King, Jesus. When we follow Jesus and learn to know Him more, we are given the amazing mission of helping to grow Godʼs kingdom through the power of the Holy Spirit. It can start with the smallest thing—one choice, a kind word, an offer of help—and grow into something far bigger and more amazing than we can imagine. But seeking Godʼs kingdom and inviting others to be a part of it is more valuable than anything else that we can ever own or achieve or be. God has invited us on the amazing adventure of partnering with Him to bring the kingdom now, where we live, until the time when God makes everything right and brings the kingdom fully.

Preschoolers are little artists. They experience so much joy when they create something and say, “Look at what I made!ˮ But we want preschoolers to know that THEY are made by God and that they are important to God. So this month, our bottom line for preschoolers is God made me wonderful. Letʼs help them experience awe and wonder as they see themselves as a part of Godʼs creation.
Weʼre taking August to dive in and explore the incredible truth that each one of us is a Masterpiece: Made by God–in Godʼs very own image! Throughout the month, kids will discover that they are created for a purpose, that God can use everything in our lives, that every single person is of value because they are made in Godʼs image, and that God has gifted us to work together to grow His kingdom.
